Israel's Rape of Gaza's Natural Resources: What the Conflict was Really About

from : signs of the times (int.)

Offshore_Reserves
Now you can see what all the fuss is about. How can we, as an international community or how can the UN just sit on our hands and allow Israel to rape the natural resources of Gaza/Palestine. It is obvious that one of the above fields is Gazan owned and sits totally in the middle of their zone (Gaza Marine 1 & 2). The one to the North (staggering the border) is jointly owned even though Israel claim it as their own (Noa & Noa South) and then we have the production platform called Mari B that may also be jointly owned sitting right on the border. We will discuss these fields in more detail in Part 2 of this series.

It is obvious that if Gaza/Palestine were allowed to claim what is rightfully theirs and if the United Nations stood firm in supporting them we would see a transformation in Gaza and West Bank that is beyond imagination.

Why does this simple problem become a major headache for them all to resolve? Why cant the UN Peacekeepers move into Gaza and take over the border control and once in place lift the entire blockade of Palestine by land, sea and air?

I think I already know the answer which caused the same problem in the Balkans and in Lebanon. All locations had been bombarded with new tech weapons which contained components of depleted or enriched uranium. All locations were used as a test bed for US manufactured weapons. What peacekeeper, in their right mind, would subject themselves to such contamination?

As we have already know the UN peacekeepers in the Balkans fell victim to DU contamination and many of those have since died. In Lebanon we saw a similar situation but this time the IDF did not reveal it had used such weapons even though samples recovered since the 2006 attack have tested positive to DU/EU weapons usage. The Lebanese and the UN suppressed this information in order to put in place the peacekeeping forces. It is obvious that had such troops found out the truth no troops would have gone into such a contaminated environment.

The writing is on the wall that we are unlikely to see UN Peacekeepers in Gaza or West Bank. To add insult to injury the UN through its agencies the UNEP and the UNDP have now commenced the clearing of all bombed structures and will over the next year remove and crush the rubble. This highly toxic residue will then be spread around the Gaza Strip for new roads.

As I have previously pointed out this is against the normal policy of the UNEP and UNDP in dealing with potentially contaminated sites so why has this been allowed to happen. Why are both these authorities allowed to create a vast secondary contamination of aerosols to drift over the entire strip once again and also spread into adjacent countries such as Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon etc? It is extremely hard to ascertain what the final death toll will be from the initial action by Israel (Cast Lead) and how this secondary contamination (by the UNEP/UNDP) will affect the entire region and beyond.

Gaza/Palestine does not need any handouts or run of the mill aid when it has such vast reserves. It can have whatever it wants if it were given the same chance like any other country to reap in its own resources....rather than let Israel rape it of its future. When we look at all the aid that is sent by boat or by convoy it's easy to understand that in most cases it doesn't get through....why? Because Israel doesn't allow it to get through? They control all borders (even the so called Egyptian controlled border) and have been handed control of the offshore waters by President Abbas.

We should stop wasting these vast sums of money in aid, which incidentally frequently gets dumped in vast stockpiles out in the desert, because it has either expired or that the authorities don't allow it to be kept in good storage and it perishes. Is this the right way to treat compassionate donations from around the world?

So what is the simple solution...."Allow Gaza/Palestine to bring their own natural gas onshore to the Gaza Strip. Allow the wealth of these resources to fund major projects such as a large Domestic Gas Plant, a large Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant, build new Industrial Gas Turbine power stations (that run on natural gas), promote new Joint Venture industrial entities that run on natural gas and then create a public transport system that also runs on gas.

As you can see Gaza/Palestine could have a very prosperous future but will we, the world, allow this to happen and what price will the people of Palestine have to pay? One thing for sure the United Nations must accept that it failed Palestine miserably. As for the Oslo accord we can also look at this extremely flawed agreement in the next part and show how Israeli manipulated this agreement and then totally disregarded it.

Israel's rape of Gaza's Natural Resources Part 2: What the conflict was really about
September 17, 2009

Israels_Mari_B_Natural_Gas_Field
Noble Energy discovered the Mari B natural gas field in March of 2000 and commenced Israel's first offshore production on the 24/12/2003. Production facilities are sized to produce up to 600 MMcfpd. Noble Energy estimated the total recoverable reserves to exceed one trillion cubic feet. Noble Energy is the operator of the project with a 47.059% working interest with Israeli partners Avner Oil Exploration Limited Partnership 23% Delek Drilling Limited Partnership 25.5% and Delek Investments and Properties Ltd. 4.441%.

But can we say with great confidence that the Mari B natural gas field and the adjacent Noa fields are totally owned by Israel? Do they finish on the border as shown on this Noble Energy Map? Do the disputed borders comply with normal United Nations Convention On The Law Of The Sea (UNCLOS) protocol? Do the Israelis ever accept or comply with the International Maritime Law? Surprisingly the answer to all of the above is most definitely no!

We have repeatedly seen the failings of the UN to uphold international law. We saw the Oslo Accord in 1995, which gave the fishermen of Gaza a 20 nautical mile (nm) zone, fall into tatters after careful manipulation by the Israeli Government. This was then followed by the Bertini Agreement in 2002 which gave them a 12nm zone, although little is known about this agreement. Since this time we have seen the IDF reduce this zone down to 6nm in 2006. On top of all this we have other restrictions such as Zone K (a buffer zone) on the Northern border with Israel which is 1.5nm wide and to the South we have Zone M on the Egyptian border and that is 1nm wide. In between we have Zone L that basically is also totally controlled by the Israel Navy in a very aggressive manner.

The Israeli Navy was given the security of the offshore Gaza Marine Area by Mr Abbas and this has now become a full scale blockade area. Almost daily the naval gunboats intimidate the fishermen and keep them close to the shore with total disregard of any agreement reached. One can clearly see that this action has nothing to do with fishing but rather the total militarisation of the Gaza Strip and the security of the natural offshore resources.

My next question would be why would the Israeli Government and Noble Energy select to drill right on the Gaza (Palestinian) border? Why have buffer zones? Do they have some hidden agenda or plans to rape Gaza of its own resources?

We have seen this in other parts of the world whereby the drilling company uses slant or diagonal drilling techniques to enter a cross border oil or gas reserve.

Ability_to_drill_in_all_directions
There is also the question of an Oil Rig or Platform Exclusion Zones that offers safe navigation and protection to both rigs and shipping. In the case of the Mari B it is sitting less than 1 nautical mile from Gazan Waters and therefore it would be impossible to implement such an arrangement without both countries agreeing to the terms.

I know for a fact that the recommended safety radius for the Mari B was to have been 6nm so is this part of the reason for creating a buffer zone and how can the Israelis implement such a zone that places it well inside Gazan Waters? The other issue is that in the case where one country restricts the activities of another (such as their legal fishing zone) then that country has to compensate the fishermen for the loss of that part of their fishing zone.

The most important issue from my perspective is the fact that the borders have not been clarified by the UNCLOS and continue to remain as disputed borders. Again I think there is another hidden agenda! I believe that Israel's Mari B field does in actual fact enter into Gazan Waters and should this be the case the field could be classified as jointly owned. Israel has been receiving natural gas from this field since 2003 and no one flickered an eyelid or challenged them.

In the case of the two adjacent fields of Noa and Noa South (which Israel claims to be their own) both are certainly well inside the Palestinian Border. We could be seeing here a classic case of the exploitation of Palestinians Natural Resources. The UN has already identified this rape but again does nothing.

The geology of the entire area makes exploration in the Eastern Mediterranean an extremely attractive business. The sea bed contains an extremely thick salt encrusted layer (from the days when the Mediterranean was dry) with natural gas sitting below. I would also be bold enough to say that much deeper below this gas sits crude oil. The sub terrain in the region is highly active with tectonic plate movement as well as major rifts. These extend from down in the Democratic Republic of Congo running up through Southern Sudan to the Red Sea and Dead Sea area. It has been know for such areas to keep recharging themselves due to the enormous pressure below the surface of the earth.

We also have to understand that both crude oil and natural gas also sits in pockets in the onshore region of Palestine and Israel. It is interesting to note that one of the well heads that has been producing crude oil for Israel for some years sits off the Northeast tip of the Gaza Strip and was once Palestinian Territory.

West_Bank2
Whilst still on the subject of the rift area described above we should now look at the severe restrictions that exist in the West Bank. When one looks at the map on the left we can clearly see that Israel is in control of more than half of the territory that is supposed to belong to Palestine.

Maybe again we can see some hidden agenda raising its ugly head. In history the region around the Dead Sea revealed some interesting aspects when large chunks of tar like substance appeared at many locations. There has always been a strong interest in what lies below this strange moonscape environment and historically it is evident that again we see a clear sign of much oil and gas in the region.

Could we again see a similar situation developing in West Bank region that occurred in the Gaza offshore area? Is the reason behind the militarisation of the entire Eastern Sector of the West Bank all related to the Israelis greed for oil and gas at whatever the cost? Are we again seeing the exploitation of Palestinian natural resources?

It is with great shame that we see the failings of the United Nations in upholding international law. They have repeatedly observed this arrogant nation take whatever it wants, whenever it wants. The UN continues to sit on their hands and do nothing. The world knows that what is going on here can only be described as "Slow Genocide" with the overall intention of removing all those of Arabic origin and to reclaim the land that they say was given to them in the Bible. Imagine how different the situation would be today if when Abraham stood on Mt Sinai to receive this gift that he had chosen to settle his people in the area surrounding the mountain and the Sinai Peninsular. Had he done so Palestine would have been left alone under its rightful ownership?

In Part 3 we will look at the potential rape of Palestine's natural resources in much greater detail and look at the so called disputed borders and military controlled regions that may reveal other hidden agenda.

Israel's Rape of Gaza's Natural Resources: Part 3

UN_Map_of_fishing_zone
When one looks at this offshore chart it is easy to see that really the people of Gaza have no way of achieving a commercially viable fishing industry. It has now collapsed and the entire stock of fish close to the shore has been totally depleted.

This chart is an official UN Chart but what does it mean? Why is it that year after year they keep showing a zone that continues to shrink? The same applies onshore whereby Palestine (that was once a large vibrant community) has now been reduced to small enclaves.

This so called two state policy is an absolute joke with West Bank in itself almost becoming two states (Israeli - Palestinian)

Lets briefly look at the disaster that has fallen upon the fishermen of Gaza and how the Israelis (with the help of the Palestinian Authority) have now asserted total control of the entire offshore waters. Some time ago I had the opportunity to visit Cyprus and met with many fishermen there who boasted about the days when they could fish in the offshore Gaza area. Fishing was excellent and prawning was even better with some very lucrative catches. The Cypriot fisherman remember the days when the Israel Navy slowly but forcible moved them out of the region.

Since the Oslo Accord and the Bertini Agreement we have seen the Israel Government exert its force onto the poor fishermen of Gaza. The original 20 nautical mile limit (which should have been 24 nautical miles) has never been upheld and likewise the Bertini 12 nautical mile limit failed to achieve it goal. What we have now is basically the fishermen go out and operate on a day to day basis in an area close to shore, the extent of which is controlled by the Israeli Navy.

Some time ago during talks on the offshore gas reserves President Abbas handed over the offshore security zone to Israel which it now controls.

Writing this article doesn't mean that I fully approve of the blockade. I believe that all negotiations made on behalf of Palestine are totally unacceptable to a point that the people of Palestine have been held to ransom. Many times we see a big brother type approach where they are forced to accept or suffer the consequences. However I also feel that President Abbas has in some cases accepted deals that would normally be totally unacceptable to others.

Let's now take a closer look at the fishing industry and see just how difficult it is for the fishermen of Gaza to maintain a viable industry. As we have previously discussed fishing offshore Gaza used to be extremely lucrative so what has changed to bring this industry into total collapse and why?

Fish_Cyprus
This is part of a typical catch in Cyprus. I watched the fishing boats arrive in the evening with around 1500 kg of these Tuna type fish. Overnight they were shipped out and on their way to Europe. This gives a simple comparison of what can only be described as a very lucrative catch. The fish are separated into boxes after they have been weighed.

Most fishing takes place in deeper water and therefore this becomes the first obstacle for the fishermen of Gaza. The Israeli Navy continuously intimidates the fishermen and most of the time restricts them to closer inshore (inside around 3 km offshore).

When one goes out everyday (the same distance) you put enormous pressure on the systems ability to restock in a natural way. The zone becomes overfished and immature fish also get taken and therefore the chain is then broken. Eventually within a small timeframe the entire stock depletes and collapses.

To prove a point take a look at one such catch in Gaza and you can see from the photograph below that despite the manpower the yield is extremely small.

fish-gaza
Fisherman_Gaza
In 2007 the UNHCR reported on the decline of Gaza's Fishing Industry and stressed the importance of allowing the fisherman to go about their daily lives in this vital industry. Fishing historically has been the only lifeline for the people of Gaza. It has been very much part of their daily life and nutritional intake. The UN has allowed the establishment of the deeply flawed Oslo Accord to decimate it.

EEZ
Generally speaking each coastal state is entitled to its own EEZ which allows it access and control to all the natural resources that exist within its 200 nautical mile limit. In the case of Gaza it is not possible to gain such an extended marine zone as the borders between Israel and Egypt, when extended, converge into a sort of extended triangle shape. However, it may be possible to give Gaza a distance of around 60 nautical miles. If such a zone was established Gaza would be in a very good position to recover its lost fishing industry and also have the ability to continue searching for more oil and gas which is believed to be prolific in this area.

The Media: Israel and Nuclear Weapons

For the past four days we all have been bombarded by the media about Iran and secret nuclear facility in Qom.

It is quite surprising to me that nearly all the Main Stream Media have been on the bandwagon on Iran and nuclear weapons. Not one media person had shown their independent thinking or having the guts to ask about the nuclear program in Israel. We know that Israel has nuclear weapons but they are not informing us about the nuclear weapons in Israel. How do we look to the outside world?

As someone who is against nuclear weapons and supports a nuclear weapon free world. Why is it that Iran is the country that we are picking on?

Some questions for the so called experts and journalists:

Why is Iran in violation and not Israel? If Iran is in violation then Israel has been in violation for a long time. What the G3 needs to do is to compel Israel, India and Pakistan to join the NPT. Till this is done we are not credible. Israel has nuclear weapon and we are not going after them. We are not credible on this matter. Israel also must come clean!!!!!!

Why is Vanunu not allowed to travel out of Israel? This is also a human rights violation issue. Vanunu was the Moroccan Jew and an Israeli former nuclear technical assistant that revealed details of Israel's nuclear weapons program to the British Press in 1986. He was kidnapped by Israeli intelligence operatives and transported to Israel. He was tried and convicted of treason and espionage. He spent 18 years in prison and more than 11 years in solitary confinement.

Why is Israel not a member of the NPT?
The UN's nuclear assembly passed a resolution last week urging Israel to accede to the NPT and open their atomic sites to inspections by the IAEA. Israel refused, " Israel will not cooperate in any matter with this resolution which is only aiming at reinforcing political hostilities and lines of division in the Middle East region "
India and Pakistan have also refused to sign the treaty and permit inspections.

Entering the NPT would place Israel’s nuclear arsenal under direct international scrutiny for the first time since its creation. Coming clean with its own decades of nuclear activities may also undermine its demands to crack down on the Iranian government.

We need to start the elimination of nuclear weapons by having and insisting that all countries with nuclear weapons must be members of the NPT. Israel does not even confirm that she has nuclear weapons and goes around insisting that Iran should not be allowed to have nuclear weapons. Who allowed Israel to have nuclear weapons?????

McChrystal Assessment Paints Dire Picture of Afghan War

from : The wall street journal / http://online.wsj.com

A U.S. soldier at a base in Afghanistan's East Paktika province on Sunday.

WASHINGTON -- Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the U.S. commander in Afghanistan, told the Obama administration last month that the situation in the country is "deteriorating" and that without additional resources, the U.S.-led coalition could lose the war.

The conclusions, contained in a 66-page assessment, were first reported on the web site of the Washington Post Sunday night and confirmed by a senior administration official.

After weeks of speculation, details of Gen. Stanley McChrystal's report on Afghanistan were released. What's striking about his assessment, WSJ's Peter Spiegel reports, is the urgency of his message.

The declassified version of the assessment paints a dire picture of the war up until this summer, saying that the allied effort is losing support among the Afghan people and that it must regain the initiative in the next 12 months or risk a situation where "defeating the insurgency is no longer possible."

"Additional resources are required, but focusing on force or resource requirements misses the point entirely," Gen. McChrystal wrote in a four-page "commander's summary" at the start of the assessment. "The key take away from this assessment is the urgent need for a significant change to our strategy and the way that we think and operate."

Some contents of Gen. McChrystal's assessment – including the need to focus the NATO-led mission on protecting Afghan population centers and enlarging the Afghan security forces to assist in that goal – have been reported before by The Wall Street Journal and other news organizations.

Reuters

Gen. Stanley McChrystal

But made public as a comprehensive summary for the first time, the assessment is sweeping in its criticism of the war effort and unsparing in the obstacles that need to be cleared in order to achieve even limited victory in Afghanistan.

The assessment was originally sent by Gen. McChrystal to the Pentagon and NATO commanders in Belgium as a classified document, but the senior administration official said a declassified version was made public Sunday night after the Washington Post obtained an original version.

Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said the Post consulted senior Pentagon officials about which parts of the assessment could put allied operations at risk and agreed to excise sensitive segments of the document before making it public.

Although the assessment was classified, senior military officials said it was only at the "confidential" level, and several had urged it be made public in order to better explain to political leaders and the American people the new campaign being undertaken in Afghanistan by Gen. McChrystal, who took command in June.

In the assessment, Gen. McChrystal called for nothing short of an entire overhaul of the way the war is being fought, shifting operations away from hunting down bands of insurgents to a more classic counterinsurgency campaign aimed foremost at protecting Afghan civilians.

Top U.S. General Warns of Afghanistan Failure

1:58

The Pentagon is expected to ask for more U.S. troops to turn the situation around, and the ball is in the president's court. Fox's Doug Luzader has the story from Washington. Video courtesy of Fox News.

Although the assessment made no specific requests for additional U.S. forces, Gen. McChrystal also sent clear signals that such a request is likely to come. "Resources will not win this war, but under-resourcing could lose it," he wrote.

Mr. Morrell said the Pentagon was disappointed the document was made public, saying Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates intended for President Barack Obama to have time to absorb the assessment before it was delivered to a wider audience.

"[It] is a classified pre-decisional document, intended to provide President Obama and his national security team with the basis for a very important discussion about where we are now in Afghanistan and how to best to get to where we want to be," Mr. Morrell said.

Despite the dire picture painted in the assessment, Gen. McChrystal was clear that he believes the NATO mission can still be victorious, writing bluntly "success is achievable." But he also wrote that ISAF – the name given to NATO's International Security and Assistance Force in Afghanistan – is poorly suited to fighting the kind of counterinsurgency mission needed in the country.

"The insurgency cannot defeat us militarily; but we can defeat ourselves," Gen. McChrystal wrote.

ISAF must change its "operational culture" to interact more closely with the Afghan people, Gen. McChrystal wrote, acknowledging that it is a tactic that could lead to more NATO casualties, since it will move soldiers out of fortified bases.

He also calls for a restructuring of ISAF's command structure so that his headquarters in Kabul can more effectively run the multinational force, where many countries insist on abiding by their own rules of engagement.

The Israeli Occupation of America: How Israel Gained Control of American Foreign Policy and Public Opinion

from : what really happened (blog) ( Int. )

By Hesham Tillawi, PhD

”Israel need not apologize for the assassination or destruction of those who seek to destroy it. The first order of business for any country is the protection of its people.”Washington Jewish Week, October 9, 1997

I came from a country occupied militarily by Israel to the land of “the free and the brave” only to find out it too was occupied politically by Israel.

The Palestinian people, holding on to whatever shred of hope they can, are counting on the day Americans see the error of their ways and change their opinion of the whole Middle East situation and understand it for what it truly is–A conquered, oppressed people living a hellish existence under a maniacal, occupying power and who will then contact their representatives in Congress and have them put the heat on Israel in fulfilling the agreements she made years ago with the PLO such as Oslo, Taba, Camp David, Wye River, the Road Map, or even Annapolis.

The sad fact however is that the Americans–as much as they champion themselves as a “free people”–are in no better shape than the Palestinians. On the contrary, the American position is worse than that of the Palestinians. The Palestinians can identify the enemy–he is the one with the gun and blowing away their loved ones. They KNOW they are occupied and oppressed. They KNOW how Israel occupied Palestine, killed its inhabitants and forced the majority of those who survived the carnage out of their homes and lands to then live as strangers in refugee camps.

The Americans however, have no idea. Like a drug addict who thinks he feels great after shooting up, he does not realize he is a slave, to his substance and to his pusher. The history of how the Zionists’ controlled England is not shrouded in mystery. Through Jewish control of the British government the Balfour Declaration was drafted that “gave” the land of Palestine to the Jews after WWI, a land they did not own or possess.

But how in the world did they occupy the United States politically? There is no real “Balfour Declaration” we can point to as proof.

Or can we?

Jewish influence in American politics–while there from the earliest days and certainly apparent during the Wilson, Roosevelt and Truman administrations–did not become the force it is today until the Kennedy era, or, rather, AFTER the Kennedy era.

As all know, in 1961 John Kennedy became the 35th President of the United States, a presidency cut short as a result of his assassination in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Robert Kennedy, the president’s younger brother was Attorney General of the United States and therefore the head of the Department of Justice.

What is little-known is that the Kennedy’s realized early on that indeed the country was in trouble and that something needed to be done about it. The trouble in this case was the influence slithering its way into American political life from a far-away state only about 12 years old known as Israel. Both Kennedy brothers, learning politics at their father Joseph’s knee, understood the dynamic of this thing known as “Jewish interests”, how it would play out and what the repercussions would be for America.

Of the many issues revolving around Israel and the Zionist question the two more important as pertains the Jewish state were (A) Israel’s nuclear program, and (B) the issue of an organization known as the American Zionist Council.

According to Pulitzer Prize winning author Seymour Hersh, President Kennedy was profoundly committed to nuclear nonproliferation and was categorically opposed to nuclear weapons in the Middle East, which meant opposing Israel’s nuclear program. Hersh states that JFK exerted heavy pressure on Israel to stop the program and was serious about it. At the time Kennedy was in the middle of crises mode with the Russians in trying to arrange a nonproliferation treaty with them and therefore Israel’s nuclear program would be a big embarrassment. In addition to being an embarrassment it would open up the possibility of a nuclear conflict with Russia, given her allies in the Middle East, something made all the more believable in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis that almost resulted in a nuclear war between the two giants. John Kennedy had nightmares about the prospect of nuclear proliferation, saying “I am haunted by the feeling that by 1970, unless we are successful, there may be ten nuclear powers instead of four, and by 1975, 15 to 20…. I see the possibility in the 1970s of the president of the United States having to face a world in which 15 or 25 nations may have these weapons. I regard this as the greatest possible danger and hazard.”

Secret letters and secret meetings between Kennedy and Ben-Gurion give a clear picture of the difficulty Kennedy faced in negotiating with the Israeli Prime Minister who stated many times that nothing will save Israel but nuclear power. According to author Michael Collins Piper in his book Final Judgment Ben Gurion wrote Kennedy saying: “Mr. President, my people have the right to exist, and this existence is in danger.”

It does not take a skilled translater to figure out what Ben Gurion was saying, namely that Kennedy’s opposition to nuclear weapons in the Middle East was seen as an existential threat to the Jewish people and their newly-formed state. Going further, Kennedy insisted on inspections of Israel’s program as evidenced in a secret letter sent to then-Israeli Prime Minister Levy Eshkol that stated that American support of Israel “could be jeopardized” if the Americans were not allowed to inspect the Israeli nuclear facilities.

As if the aforementioned were not enough, there was another front in this private war between Kennedy and the “Jewish state” equally important in its scope if we are to understand what kinds of forces were at play here that led to America’s change of policy with regards to Israel. It involves the issue of spying, bribery and the direct controlling of American politicians by a foreign power and the one creature at the center of all of it was something known as the American Zionist Council and the Kennedys’ insistence it register as a foreign agent under the provisos of FARA, the Foreign Agent Registration Act passed by Congress back in 1938 to prevent German agents in the U.S. from buying their way into the American system of government and public opinion. The purpose of FARA was “to insure that American public and its law makers know the source of information- propaganda intended to sway public opinion, policy, and laws.”

In other words the Kennedy’s understood the danger of the Zionist Movement on the United States of America and treated it just like Germany was treated during the Hitler years. The Kennedy’s understood the reality of the situation as it existed during their days in government, that the AZC was an agent of a foreign government, Israel, which would prevent it from buying American politicians and exerting the kind of influence over public opinion making that for all intents and purposes is now is a fait accompli.

Negotiations went back and forth between the Department of Justice headed by the President’s brother Robert and the American Zionist Council. The council refused to register and the DOJ tried to exert pressure on them, even going so far in one instance as giving them 72 hours to register, but at no avail. Examining the newly-de-classified documents containing the minutes of those meetings between the DOJ and the AZC one can see the language of gangsters being used. In one of those documents dated May 2, 1963 the head legal counsel Simon H. Rifkind for the AZC explained to the representatives of the DOJ the nature of the AZC, saying “The council is composed of representatives of the various Zionist organizations in the United States” and thereby, in effect, it represented “the vast majority of organized Jewry within this country.” The message was clear here–As far as organizations go it is big and powerful. Judge Rifkind obviously wanted to make sure the Kennedy’s knew they were picking a fight with a gorilla and not some small mouse.

He did not stop there but went further by stating that the vast number of Jews who adhered to the principles of Zionism could not understand how “our administration” could “do such harm to the Zionist movement and impair the effectiveness of the council by insistence on registration.”

Here Judge Rifkind made sure he used the phrase “our administration” instead of “our government” to make a specific point, namely that he was talking about Kennedy personally, that it was the Jews responsible for him getting elected and that if he continued with his agenda he was in effect entering into a war with organized Jewry.

Another meeting very much worth noting was held on October 17, 1963 between DOJ and AZC. In this meeting Judge Rifkind insisted on non registering, citing that fact that “It was the opinion of most of the persons affiliated with the Council that such registration…would eventually destroy the Zionist movement” and adding that he did not believe his clients would “file any papers or sign any papers indicating that the organization was an agent of a foreign principal”. In other words, “Screw You America and your laws, we’ll do what we want” as well as threatening the administration and telling them who really ruled the country, not the Kennedy brothers but rather the persons “affiliated” with AZC. Once translated from Gangsterese into understandable political language, this statement was in effect a direct warning/threat to the Administration that the war was on. It is up for grabs whether or not the Kennedys understood this to be the real threat it was, but nevertheless the Administration decided to continue with its position.

On November 22, 1963 President John Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. As the AZC went away into the sunset, AIPAC came riding in, born and led by the same persons who created and managed AZC for the same purpose. This time however, the message went out clearly for all on Capitol Hill to hear and understand–“Do not stand in our way of influencing public opinion, policy, or laws.”

Obviously, the message has been effective, as all American leaders save a few such as James Traficant have done as instructed. According to the former Congressman, Israel receives $15 Billion worth of aid from the American Taxpayers without a single discussion or a single argument on the floor of either the house of Representatives or the Senate. Why? Because no one dares to question it. Why is it that most of our politicians make pilgrimage to Tel Aviv and the “wailing wall” in Jerusalem to get the blessing of Israel before they are even approved by their own political parties here in the United States? Why is it our Congress is always split down the middle on all other issues presented to them except when it deals with Israel? We all still remember the comment made by former Israeli Prime Minster Ariel Sharon to his Foreign Minister Shimon Peres in October 2001: “Don’t worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America.” When people with eyes to see state that fact they are called anti-Semites, despite the fact that what is being said is the truth.

The “control” Sharon spoke about has been there for a long time now. Consider what the late Senator Fulbright (who chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and who held hearings back in 1963 regarding the AZC and the fact it should be registered as a Foreign Agent registration) said when speaking on the CBS television program “Face the Nation” had to say–

“I am aware how almost impossible it is in this country to carry out a foreign policy not approved by the Jews…Terrific control the Jews have over the news media and the barrage the Jews have built up on Congress… the Jewish influence here is completely dominating the scene and making it almost impossible to get Congress to do anything they (the Jews) don’t approve of.”

These words were not spoken by a researcher or a reporter but by a brave American hero who actually lived through and experienced the Jewish influence over our political system and media.

This Israeli political occupation of the United States should not go on unchallenged, and American Jewry should understand that secrets cannot be hidden from the people forever. Nothing less than a revolution will correct this situation. The corrective action should be taken at the ballot boxes by electing people who are not afraid to challenge AIPAC and the likes and make America’s Foreign Policy truly American and not Israeli.

As a first step in this process, let us keep the words of our dear martyred President John F Kennedy in mind– “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable”.

Death people can talk : Rethink your ways, Bin Laden tells Americans

And to no ones surprise as usual since 2001 ,only Audio and still Fotos of Bin Laden on the latest Video !

feed : http://uk.news.yahoo.com/18/20090914/twl-rethink-your-ways-bin-laden-tells-am-3cd7efd.htm

Artikel starts :

Titled "Message to the American People," the video -- released on Sunday by the As-Sahab media production branch of Al-Qaeda -- features a still image of bin Laden and an audio statement, said IntelCenter, based outside Washington.

It came two two days after the United States marked the eighth anniversary of the attacks by bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network in which hijacked airliners were flown into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, killing nearly 3,000 people.

Bin Laden said that among "some other injustices," US support to Israel motivated Al-Qaeda to launch the September 11 attacks, IntelCenter reported.

He also stated that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were driven by the pro-Israeli lobby in the White House and corporate interests, and not by Islamic militants.

"If you think about your situation well, you will know that the White House is occupied by pressure groups," he said, according to IntelCenter.

"Rather than fighting to liberate Iraq -- as Bush claimed -- it (the White House) should have been liberated."

He was referring to former US president George W. Bush, who ordered the March 2003 invasion of Iraq that overthrew Saddam Hussein's regime.

If Americans want to end their confrontation with Al-Qaeda, bin Laden continued, they must reconsider their attitude toward the Jewish state.

"Put the file of your alliance with Israelis on the discussion table," he stated, according to IntelCenter's translation of the address.

"Ask yourselves to determine your position: is your security, your blood, your children, your money, your jobs, your homes, your economy, and your reputation dearer to you than the security of the Israelis, their children and their economy?

"If you choose your security and cessation of war, and this is what the polls have shown, this requires you to work to punish those on your side who play with our security," Bin Laden said.

"We are ready to respond to this choice on aforementioned sound and just bases."

According to bin Laden, current US President Barack Obama is powerless and unwilling to change the course of the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Obama's retention of US Defense Secretary Robert Gates and other individuals from the Bush administration is confirmation of the president's weakness, the Al-Qaeda leader said.

"It will become clear to you in days that all you have changed in the White House are faces," he is quoted by IntelCenter as saying.

"The bitter truth is that the neo-conservatives continue to cast their heavy shadows upon you."

Bin Laden urged Americans to pressure the White House to cease the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and US support to Israel, rather than succumb to what he called "the ideological terrorism" exercised by neo-conservatives.

If the wars are not ended, "all we will do is to continue the war of attrition against you on all possible axes, like we exhausted the Soviet Union for 10 years until it collapsed with grace from Allah the Almighty and became a memory of the past," bin Laden said.

IntelCenter said bin Laden typically releases such a statement annually around September or October.

The last audiotape by the Al-Qaeda leader was released on June 3. In that missive he scorned Obama's overture to the Islamic world and warned of decades of conflict ahead.

That audiotape aired on the Al-Jazeera satellite news channel less than an hour after Obama landed in Saudi Arabia, bin Laden's home country, at the start of a Middle East tour.

Bin Laden has a 50-million-dollar bounty on his head and has been in hiding for the past eight years.

Intelligence officials, US military analysts and other experts have long believed he is hiding in either Pakistan or Afghanistan near the remote mountainous border between the two countries.

In March, an audio attributed to bin Laden accused some Arab leaders of being "complicit" with Israel and the West against Muslims and urged holy war to liberate the Palestinian territories.

The same month, he urged the overthrow of the Somali president.

Iraqi shoe throwing journalist to be freed today

Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi as he hurled his shoe at former US president George W. Bush, Dec. 14, 2008.
The Iraqi journalist, Muntazer al-Zaidi, jailed for throwing his shoes at former US president George W. Bush is slated to be released today.

"We will know by about 9 am (0600 GMT) on Monday if he is to be released," AFP reported al-Zaidi's lawyer, Dhiya al-Saadi, as saying on Monday.

Al-Zaidi was initially sentenced to three years for assaulting a foreign head of state, but had his jail time reduced to one year on appeal.

The 30-year-old television reporter is set to be freed early because of good behavior.

According to Al-Zaidi's family, the reporter is expected to leave jail on Monday.

"We are preparing for his release," said Zaidi's elder brother, Durgham.

"This is not a favor from the Iraqi government - this is what he deserves. There was no charge by President Bush or Iraq's Foreign or Justice Ministries. The jail sentence was a matter of revenge because what he did was in the presence of the Iraqi Prime Minister," he added.

Zaidi shouted "it is the farewell kiss, you dog," at Bush on December 14 last year, seconds before hurling his size-10 shoes at the former US president who was speaking at a joint press conference in Baghdad on what was his farewell visit to the war-torn Iraq.

Bush ducked and narrowly avoided the shoe, but astonished security guards, officials and journalists watched as Zaidi then threw his other shoe, shouting, "This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq!"

The incident captured many Iraqis' feelings of resentment after more than six years of bloodshed triggered by the US-led invasion in 2003.

The Cairo-based al-Baghdadia television network where Zaidi worked as a reporter has said he's welcome to come back. The channel paid his salary throughout his imprisonment.

Since Zaidi's December 14 outburst and his subsequent arrest, thousands have demonstrated for his release, hailing his gesture.

Obama adviser (Van Jones) quits over past 9/11 remarks

from : presstv.ir ( Iran )

Van Jones resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements.

US President Barack Obama's adviser has stepped down after his past remarks about a government role in the 2001 terror attacks sparked controversy.

The White House said early on Sunday that Van Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, resigned Saturday.

"I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality," Jones said in a statement.

Nancy Sutley, chair of the council, said that she accepts Jones resignation and thanked him for his service.

Jones has come under fire in recent days following revelations that he had signed a petition, which claims Bush administration officials "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war" and he once had called Republicans "assholes."

Earlier, Jones said he was "clearly inappropriate" in using a crude term to describe Republicans in a speech he gave before joining the Obama administration.

The resignation comes after White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said earlier that Jones "continues to work in the administration." Jones issued an apology on Thursday for his past statements.

However, his apologies did not stop Republicans' calls for Obama's green jobs adviser resignation.

Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana called for Jones to quit, saying in a statement, "His extremist views and coarse rhetoric have no place in this administration or the public debate."

Missouri Sen. Christopher Bonds urged Congress to investigate Jones's fitness for his White House position.

Iran nuclear "threat" hyped: IAEA's ElBaradei

from : www.reuters.com

Wed Sep 2, 2009 12:00pm EDT

VIENNA (Reuters) - Iran is not going to produce a nuclear weapon any time soon and the threat posed by its atomic program has been exaggerated, the U.N. nuclear watchdog chief said in a published interview.

The West suspects Iran wants to develop a nuclear weapons capability under the guise of a declared civilian atomic energy program. Tehran rejects the charge, saying its uranium enrichment program is a peaceful way to generate electricity.

Mohamed ElBaradei, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said there was no concrete evidence that Tehran has an ongoing nuclear weapons program.

"But somehow, many people are talking about how Iran's nuclear program is the greatest threat to the world. In many ways, I think the threat has been hyped," he told the specialist Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.

ElBaradei said there was concern about Iran's future nuclear intentions and that the Islamic Republic needs to be more transparent with the Vienna-based U.N. nuclear watchdog.

"But the idea that we'll wake up tomorrow and Iran will have a nuclear weapon is an idea that isn't supported by the facts as we have seen them so far," said ElBaradei, 67, who will step down in November after 12 years in office.

The interview was conducted in July but released late on Tuesday.

Last week, an IAEA report lent some weight to Western intelligence reports that Iran had studied ways to make atom bombs although the agency has repeatedly said it does not have concrete proof of a weapons agenda.

Iran has refused to provide documentation, access to sites or to nuclear officials for interviews which the IAEA has requested to reach conclusions about the intelligence materials.

In the interview, ElBaradei said there was an urgent need to follow up on U.S. President Barack Obama's proposal for a dialogue between Washington and Tehran, but that resorting to harsher sanctions against Iran if it does not engage would achieve little.

ElBaradei said he had gleaned from experiences dealing with North Korea and Iraq that dialogue was a more effective tool than sanctions. He was not talking about a specific country.

"Another lesson is to use sanctions only as a last resort and to avoid sanctions that hurt innocent civilians. As we saw in Iraq, sanctions only denied vulnerable, innocent civilians food and medicine," he said.

Iran's chief nuclear negotiator was quoted as saying on Tuesday that Tehran has prepared an "updated nuclear proposal" and is ready to talk to world powers. The West has said it is still waiting for details.

Germany is to host high-level talks on Iran's nuclear program on Wednesday with the United States, China, France, Britain and Russia. Western powers are expected to push China and Russia to back a fourth round of U.N. sanctions which could target Iran's vital energy sector.
